Job Description Summary
🔬 Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support critical clinical research in movement disorders, focusing on Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Systems Atrophy, Spinocerebellar Ataxia, and Essential Tremor.
Responsibilities
- 🩺 Oversee patient recruitment and consent processes for pharmaceutical and federally funded clinical research studies
- 📊 Collect and analyze data using Excel and SPSS, performing statistical testing and creating comprehensive reports
- 🧪 Process biological samples including blood, CSF, urine, and skin biopsies
- 📝 Prepare IRB regulatory submissions, including protocol and consent form development
- 🤝 Conduct study visits, administer clinical interviews, and perform cognitive assessments
- 📈 Assist in manuscript and grant writing
- 🌐 Participate in community outreach and professional meetings
