🔬 Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support critical clinical research in movement disorders, focusing on Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Systems Atrophy, Spinocerebellar Ataxia, and Essential Tremor.

Responsibilities

• 🩺 Oversee patient recruitment and consent processes for pharmaceutical and federally funded clinical research studies
• 📊 Collect and analyze data using Excel and SPSS, performing statistical testing and creating comprehensive reports
• 🧪 Process biological samples including blood, CSF, urine, and skin biopsies
• 📝 Prepare IRB regulatory submissions, including protocol and consent form development
• 🤝 Conduct study visits, administer clinical interviews, and perform cognitive assessments
• 📈 Assist in manuscript and grant writing
• 🌐 Participate in community outreach and professional meetings

Key Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 1.5 years of related research experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
