Since its inception in 2012, the IT Services apprenticeship program has built an impressive track record, with over 40 Modern Apprentices completing the program. What You’ll Learn as a Digital Workplace Apprentice
As a Digital Workplace Apprentice, you’ll develop a diverse skillset that combines technical knowledge with creative communication abilities. The role focuses on several key areas:
- Digital Marketing Skills: Learn how to create compelling digital content and campaigns
- User-Friendly Communications: Develop expertise in crafting clear technical communications for diverse audiences
- Digital Tool Optimization: Help University staff maximize their use of available digital tools and services
- IT Fundamentals: Build strong foundations in essential technologies including:
- Email systems and management
- Digital calendaring
- Cybersecurity principles and practices
- File storage solutions and best practices
Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll benefit from dedicated mentoring and structured support designed to help you achieve an SCQF Level 6 qualification during your two-year contract. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement user-friendly digital communications for the University community
- Assist University staff in maximizing the use of available digital tools and services
- Support users with IT fundamentals including email, calendaring, cybersecurity, and file storage
- Contribute to marketing initiatives within the IT Services department
- Participate in training to achieve an SCQF Level 6 qualification
- Work collaboratively with the IT Services team on various projects
- Apply and enhance organizational and communication skills in a professional environment

Eligibility Requirements
