Description Summary

As an Outreach Specialist at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, you’ll play a vital role in coordinating services and community resources to improve food security and financial stability for eligible neighbors. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in Indiana’s largest hunger relief organization.

Responsibilities

• Implement a neighbor-centered approach to assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate services for individuals and families
• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to determine eligibility for federal assistance programs
• Assist neighbors with SNAP and other public assistance program applications
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation while ensuring strict confidentiality
• Coordinate with Network Service Managers and community partners
• Manage Salesforce database and conduct follow-up tracking
• Travel within the service area to conduct outreach activities
• Provide culturally competent and empathetic communication
