Job Description Summary

Keele University’s School of Medicine is seeking an Apprentice Anatomy – Multi User Laboratory Technician for a full-time, fixed-term position of 2 years. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in practical Anatomy work and traditional teaching laboratory work, supporting the education of future medical professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical staff, demonstrators, and academic staff to support timetabled sessions in laboratories and anatomy suite
  • Assist in the preparation, assembly, and arrangement of laboratory equipment, reagents, and consumables before sessions
  • Replenish, clean, and organize equipment after practical sessions
  • Handle various biological specimens with professionalism and sensitivity
  • Undertake vocational, job-based study as part of the Apprenticeship scheme
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment
  • Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies
  • Support the setup and breakdown of laboratory experiments
  • Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory records and documentation
