Job Description Summary

The University of Luxembourg’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join their SigCom research group. This role focuses on advancing 5G/6G non-terrestrial networks and satellite communications, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in wireless communication systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on 5G/6G core network standards and implement features in open-source software like free5GC and OpenAirInterface/srsRAN
  • Develop theoretical research proposals for ongoing study items, with potential for patenting and inclusion in future releases
  • Perform research on emerging communications network topics, including:
    • Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs)
    • Multicast and Broadcast Services (MBSs)
    • Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems and Urban Air Mobility (UAM)
    • Experimental emulators, prototypes, and distributed research infrastructure test platforms
  • Set up and conduct real-world testing using emulators, software-defined radios (SDRs), drones, and satellites
  • Disseminate research findings through top-tier scientific publications and conferences
  • Contribute to research proposals for industrial, national, and European projects
  • Support PhD student supervision and participate in the development of 6GSpaceLab infrastructure
