Durham University is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join their Estates and Facilities team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and development of the university’s infrastructure while working in a dynamic and prestigious academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical repairs and maintenance work across the university estate
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, statutory requirements, and relevant codes of practice
• Diagnose and repair faults in electrical services installations
• Estimate material requirements for various projects
• Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours cover
• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality services within a team environment
• Provide advice and guidance to a range of customers and colleagues
• Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and project goals
• Interpret work instructions from routine drawings and specifications
• Complete maintenance documentation and related records accurately
