Job Description Summary
Durham University is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join their Estates and Facilities team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and development of the university’s infrastructure while working in a dynamic and prestigious academic environment.
Responsibilities
- Undertake electrical repairs and maintenance work across the university estate
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, statutory requirements, and relevant codes of practice
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical services installations
- Estimate material requirements for various projects
- Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours cover
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality services within a team environment
- Provide advice and guidance to a range of customers and colleagues
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and project goals
- Interpret work instructions from routine drawings and specifications
- Complete maintenance documentation and related records accurately
