Research Focus and Methodologies

As a Research Assistant in this role, you will be at the forefront of two critical health research projects:

1. Improving Early Identification of Dementia: This project aims to enhance our ability to detect dementia in its early stages within the general population. Your work will contribute to developing more effective screening methods and diagnostic tools.

2. Asthma Attack Risk-Scoring Tool: You will be involved in creating and validating a tool to assess the risk of asthma attacks. This research has the potential to significantly improve patient outcomes by enabling better management and prevention strategies.

Both projects will utilize the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD GOLD and Aurum), a primary care database. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with large-scale, real-world health data and apply advanced analytical techniques to solve pressing healthcare challenges.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Strong data management and analysis skills
• Proficiency in statistical packages such as Stata or R

• Understanding of epidemiological methods
