Job Description Summary
The University of Leeds is seeking a dedicated and passionate academic to join the well-established Soft Matter Physics Group in the School of Physics and Astronomy as a Lecturer or Associate Professor in Soft Matter Physics, with a focus on liquid crystals.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the delivery of exceptional student education and overall experience through research-led teaching, assessments, student guidance, and curriculum development.
- Developing and delivering a research program in Soft Matter Physics with international impact, including publishing high-quality research outputs, attracting research funding, collaborating with chemists, theoreticians, and engineers, and supervising postgraduate students.
- Contributing to the administrative processes and committee structures of the School/Faculty, potentially taking on leadership roles.
- Promoting the discipline of Soft Matter Physics nationally and internationally, winning prestige for the University (Associate Professor role).
- Leading collaborations with chemists, theoreticians, and engineers (Associate Professor role).
- Contributing to the design, development, planning, and review of modules and programs within the subject area (Associate Professor role).
