Job Description Summary

The Associate Dean for Engagement and Internationalisation at Lancaster University will work closely with the Executive Dean to ensure the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) has coherent strategic frameworks for engagement and internationalisation, and that the Faculty’s objectives in these areas are met.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the FST engagement strategy, working closely with the Executive Dean, Associate Dean for Research, the FST Director of Partnerships and Business Engagement (PBE), and Heads of Department.
  • Review, enhance, and develop networks locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally to support the Faculty’s priorities.
  • Oversee and manage the engagement component of the institutional Strategy, in collaboration with the Executive Dean, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Engagement), Deputy Dean, fellow Associate and Assistant Deans, the Faculty Director of PBE, Heads of Department, and the University’s leadership team.
  • Lead the Faculty’s activity associated with the Civic University Agreement and the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) watermark.
  • Celebrate and showcase engagement success, ensuring good practice and impact are captured and shared to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in engagement.
  • Lead the Faculty’s knowledge exchange and commercialisation agenda, including intellectual property, contract research, consultancy, HEIF, regeneration funding, and non-credit bearing CPD.
  • Represent the Faculty, or lead/chair relevant committees, working groups, projects, and initiatives.
