Job Description Summary

King’s College London is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Officer to join their Centre for Gene Therapy & Regenerative Medicine (CGTRM) and Gene Therapy Vector Facility (GTVF) in process development, manufacturing, and purification of viral vectors for novel gene and cell therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of technical innovation work packages related to the development of new cell lines and vectors for GMP-compliant manufacture of viral vectors for gene therapy.
  • Lead and allocate resources for experimental plans in collaboration with the Head of Process Development.
  • Develop and optimize purification methods, aseptic handling, cellular and bioprocessing techniques, and analytical methods for the production of viral vectors.
  • Ensure successful translation of the work to GMP manufacture by applying strong background knowledge of viral vectors and purification methods.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of GMP standards, regulations, and best practices governing operations in a licensed GMP facility.
  • Manage and handle electronic or paper-based quality/batch documentation and records for IMPs/MS products.
  • Provide leadership and set performance standards for the team, monitoring tasks and outputs to ensure successful delivery.
  • Contribute to the team’s success through training, professional development, scientific input during meetings, and fostering a healthy working atmosphere.
