Job Description Summary

King’s College London is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Director for the International School for Government (ISfG), a transformative initiative that aims to establish the university as a global leader in public policy education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a coherent vision for the International School for Government that aligns with the strategic priorities of the Policy Institute, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Public Policy, and King’s College London.
  • Develop and deliver new open and closed educational programs for UK and international clients, while maintaining and innovating existing programs.
  • Provide oversight for education programs across the Policy Institute units, identifying connections and opportunities, and supporting delivery.
  • Assess market trends and anticipate future needs in public policy education, guiding the ISfG’s long-term strategic direction.
  • Work closely with the Policy Institute Director to develop the School’s academic strategy and create and maintain its international profile.
  • Participate as a member of the Policy Institute’s Leadership Team and support cross-unit activities.
  • Hold primary accountability for the School’s education and research activities, providing regular reports to the Policy Institute and SSPP.
  • Promote and foster a supportive working and educational environment that delivers equality and inclusiveness.
  • Support staff development, appraisal, and mentorship in line with King’s policy, including direct line responsibility for four senior academics and overall responsibility for the management of all academic staff.
  • Effectively manage resources, including budgetary oversight, to support the School’s academic and operational objectives.
  • Promote the School across governments, civil services, industry, and the private and third sectors around the globe.
