Job Description Summary
King’s College London is seeking an experienced and visionary academic leader to join its Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine as a Reader/Professor of Clinical Pharmacy/Director of Clinical Pharmacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for clinical pharmacy teaching across the MPharm and Independent Prescribing postgraduate programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic oversight for Clinical Pharmacy teaching across the MPharm and Independent Prescribing postgraduate course, overseeing the professional development of teaching staff within the Medicines Use Team.
- Oversee the educational research strategy for Clinical Pharmacy, disseminating best practices within and outside the university.
- Foster strong links within a complex environment, working across different stakeholder groups, primary, secondary care, and trusts.
- Develop strategic links with the National Health Service (NHS) England regarding the commissioning of education, especially concerning the placements model.
- Work with King’s Health Partners Pharmaceutical Science Clinical Academic Group (PSCAG) staff and pharmacy staff to deliver and support clinical teaching and medicines use research.
- Manage the academic contribution to the Clinical Teaching education portfolio.
- Champion and lead initiatives to improve the student experience.
- Foster a stimulating, innovative, and inclusive cultural environment across the Department, enabling students and staff to thrive and develop.
