Transmission Zero, an international research programme at Imperial College London, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join their team in pioneering innovative genetic vector control tools for combatting malaria transmission in sub-Saharan Africa.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform computational simulations to generate high-quality, publication-worthy data contributing to the advancement of the scientific programme.
• Contribute to the development of the EMOD modelling framework and its gene drive module.
• Identify and develop innovative techniques, models, and methodologies for data generation and analysis.
• Calibrate ecological and epidemiological models using location-specific data and provide modelling input to field trial design and risk assessments.
• Work with molecular biologists to develop and parameterize models of genetic control systems.
• Work with the field entomology team to analyse Mark Release Recapture data and create ad-hoc simulations.
• Prepare regular internal reports, create materials for oral and poster presentations, and draft research publications for submission to refereed journals.
• Provide guidance to graduate students on research techniques, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
