Job Description Summary

Imperial College London seeks an Advanced Research Fellow to play a pivotal role in the new Measles Analytics Hub, part of the Vaccine Impact Modelling Consortium (VIMC), coordinating high-quality research in the mathematical modelling of measles vaccination impact.

Responsibilities

  • Engage measles modellers and stakeholders to identify and address policy and programmatic questions, collaborating with Hub Co-Chairs.
  • Develop and manage a workplan with modellers and stakeholders, articulating policy-relevant questions for the Hub’s initial phase.
  • Deliver scientific reports to funders and ensure the Hub achieves its deliverables.
  • Organize regular meetings and workshops, with support from the Hub’s Project Administrator.
  • Issue requests for proposals (RfP) for new projects, coordinate modeler appointments, and monitor progress.
  • Expand the Hub’s membership, emphasizing the inclusion of modellers from high measles burden countries.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for policy and program stakeholders into a network of measles modellers.
  • Map key data sources, coordinate data access, and work with partners to resolve inconsistencies.
  • Produce position papers representing the views of the measles modelling community on various issues, including data requirements.
  • Identify synergies within VIMC and other modelling consortia to enhance opportunities for researchers in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Design, plan, and coordinate high-quality original research, managing projects and deliverables, and supervising research team colleagues.
  • Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals and present work at conferences.
  • Supervise postdoctoral researchers, postgraduate students, and undergraduate research projects.
  • Lead in developing funding proposals for research grants from national and international funding bodies.
