Job Description Summary

The University of Nottingham is offering a fully-funded PhD studentship to develop innovative Raman microscopy technologies for deep tissue imaging and biomedical applications, with a focus on understanding the foreign body response to various biomaterials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new Raman spectroscopy strategies for non-invasive measurements deep in tissue
  • Perform computer modeling of light propagation in tissue to optimize light delivery and collection
  • Design and build optimized instruments using spatial light modulators and implantable wireless optoelectronics
  • Conduct experiments to evaluate the developed techniques for molecular marker detection in deep tissue
