Job Description Summary

Durham University is seeking an experienced and dynamic Work Based Learning and Employer Services Senior Manager to lead the delivery of a comprehensive program of employer engagement activities and work-based learning initiatives for its Careers and Enterprise Centre.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Work Based Learning Team and the Employer Services Team to deliver employer engagement activities and work-based learning programs, including externally funded initiatives, extra-curricular internships, and in-curriculum support.
  • Attract local, national, and international businesses to establish opportunities for Durham students and graduates, and work innovatively to generate external funding to improve the Careers and Enterprise offer.
  • Oversee the delivery of the Social Science and Health Faculty operating team, including a cross-section of Careers and Enterprise staff, supporting the faculty’s employability development activities.
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and standards for work experience delivery, student recruitment, and employer engagement activities.
  • Manage and develop the performance and resources of the Work Based Learning and Employer Services teams to ensure a customer-focused service.
  • Build and sustain an influential network of contacts, both internally and externally, to increase knowledge, share information, and positively influence the University’s reputation.
