Job Description Summary
Durham University is seeking an experienced and qualified Head of Financial Accounting to lead the Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and Balance Sheet Reconciliation teams within the Finance Department. This is a senior role responsible for overseeing critical financial processes and preparing statutory financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and Balance Sheet Reconciliation teams, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly cashflow reports for senior management.
- Oversee the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Play a key role in preparing statutory financial statements, lead the production of lead schedules, and work closely with external auditors.
- Assist the Financial Controller with other financial duties within the wider Transactional Finance team.
- Advise senior management on investment and loan strategies.
