Job Description Summary

Durham University is seeking an experienced Nursery Chef to join their team and provide high-quality fresh food and catering services for children aged 0-5 years in their day nursery.

Responsibilities

  • Plan appropriate menus for babies and pre-school children in conjunction with the nursery management team.
  • Prepare, cook, serve, and clean up lunch and afternoon tea meals for the children.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and domestic appliances within the nursery kitchen area.
  • Follow established food safety procedures, health and safety regulations, and security protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of food inventory, orders, and expenditure within the assigned budget.
  • Delegate tasks to and supervise other kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the nursery to ensure efficient and collaborative service delivery.
