Job Description Summary

Durham University is seeking an experienced Estates Maintenance Manager (Mechanical Building Services) to oversee the maintenance and minor works for the university’s mechanical building services systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance programs, including compliance assurance and statutory inspections of mechanical building services assets
  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance as identified within various maintenance programs
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on mechanical building services engineering
  • Manage and control a range of specialist contractors delivering maintenance and minor works services
  • Develop service specifications for contracted services, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
  • Operate as a point of expertise for colleagues and stakeholders, resolving complex infrastructure and technical problems
  • Manage budgets for planned preventative maintenance, reactive minor works, and capital works projects
  • Ensure safe working practices by updating risk assessments and safety procedures
