Job Description Summary

Durham University is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their Estates and Facilities Directorate. The successful candidate will undertake electrical repairs and maintenance work across the university’s campuses, ensuring compliance with industry standards, statutory requirements, and relevant codes of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve queries and requests for information and advice regarding electrical repairs and maintenance.
  • Identify priorities and monitor processes to ensure successful service delivery.
  • Apply recognized industry procedures and techniques to ensure facilities are safe, secure, and appropriate for public access and use.
  • Investigate and resolve issues relevant to the role, utilizing problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
  • Undertake electrical work across the estate, including day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, installation, and testing of statutory equipment.
  • Prepare safety documents, such as risk assessments, to meet security and safety requirements.
