Job Description Summary
The University of Leeds is seeking an experienced HR Manager (Generalist) to join its Professional Services department. In this role, you will bring your knowledge of HR best practices and provide strategic guidance, driving organizational improvement and delivering an efficient and effective HR service.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to understand strategic imperatives and challenges faced by specific areas of the university.
- Analyze workforce information to identify areas for targeted HR/OD interventions and influence stakeholders for acceptance.
- Develop and implement workforce strategies to support business objectives, including workforce planning, change management, staff engagement, leadership development, and performance management.
- Provide expert advice on employment issues, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of staff, particularly for complex cases or those in advanced formal stages.
- Design and deliver HR/OD training, facilitation, and coaching to support staff development, engagement, and change management.
- Lead and develop HR staff, promoting a consistent university-wide HR service and continuous improvement.
- Advocate for the HR Directorate, promoting the wider workforce agenda, including equality, inclusion, organizational development, wellbeing, and health and safety.
- Lead specific projects on behalf of the HR service, such as process improvements, change programs, policy introductions, and major recruitment initiatives.
- Collaborate with other professional services, academic areas, and Trade Union Representatives to deliver effective solutions in complex situations.
