Job Description Summary
The National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Planner to manage the development and delivery of the Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) Programme for the FAAM Airborne Laboratory, a unique atmospheric research aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and analyze the Programme plan and individual project schedules in line with strategic objectives and management plans.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective scheduling management system, including documenting processes and maintaining records.
- Coordinate project timelines with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and version control.
- Identify potential schedule risks and delays, and facilitate timely interventions to prevent overruns.
- Track, analyze, and report up-to-date activity information to enable effective project management and reporting against Programme objectives.
- Consult with project leads and technical experts to establish feasible project plans, provide reviews, and guidance on developing effective plans and activities.
- Support the identification of project and activity interdependencies that will impact plans and schedules, and provide reporting on the management of these dependencies across project teams.
- Provide support to the FAAM Operations Manager and the Operations Team, including campaign planning activities and aligning MLU and FAAM schedules.
