Job Description Summary
The University of Leeds is seeking a passionate and organized Get Out, Get Active Activator to support the delivery of its physical activity program. In this role, you will coordinate and facilitate outdoor walking trips, engage with students and staff, and promote an active lifestyle.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate weekly activity sessions by coordinating registration, welcoming participants, and managing volunteers.
- Host outdoor walking day trips, ensuring route navigation, participant engagement, and safety.
- Promote the Get Out, Get Active program through meetings, events, and outreach on campus.
- Increase engagement and participation, particularly among underrepresented groups and university services.
- Recruit and mentor a volunteer workforce to support program delivery.
- Engage with various departments and schools to promote the program to students.
- Support virtual activities, such as physical activity challenges for staff, students, and alumni.
- Utilize social media platforms to promote the Get Out, Get Active offerings.
- Monitor participant attendance and gather feedback through registers and user feedback systems.
- Attend training sessions, including induction, navigation, first aid, and refresher courses.
