Job Description Summary of Disability Services Manager
The University of Derby is seeking an experienced Disability Services Manager to lead the Disability Advisory team and provide expert guidance and support to students with disabilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Disability Advisory team, providing leadership, support, and training to ensure student-focused delivery and effective service operations.
- Maintain accurate case files, statistical records, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Provide comprehensive advice and guidance to prospective and current students with disabilities on available support services, accommodations, and Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA).
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless support and reasonable adjustments throughout the student journey, from admission to graduation.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote inclusivity, accessibility, and the overall well-being of students with disabilities.
- Stay updated with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in the field of disability support services.
- Contribute to awareness-raising campaigns, induction events, and open days to promote the University’s commitment to inclusivity.
