Job Description Summary

The University of Leeds is seeking a passionate and qualified Careers Guidance Officer to lead the delivery of high-quality on-course guidance to mature and foundation year students.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of information, advice, guidance (IAG), careers education, and employment engagement activities for adult, part-time, and widening participation students
  • Develop and deliver new programs of group work related to career development and employability
  • Collaborate with program leads and teams to embed employability into curricula, aligning with the Leeds Curriculum
  • Leverage technology and social media to engage with students, graduates, and employers
  • Represent the Lifelong Learning Centre at the University Employability Network, advocating for the needs of mature and part-time undergraduates
  • Provide a framework for monitoring, evaluating, and tracking on-course guidance and careers education, contributing data for institutional reviews and continual improvement
  • Support the delivery of the guidance service and ensure adherence to Matrix standards
  • Initiate and facilitate co-curricular opportunities to enhance students’ employability prospects
  • Lead events connecting employers with mature and part-time students, facilitating collaborative activities across the University
  • Provide consultancy to academic colleagues on employability, career management, graduate destinations, and labor market information
