Job Description Summary

The University of Leeds is seeking a dedicated and passionate academic with expertise in Structural Engineering/Design to contribute to teaching and research activities in the School of Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality research-led teaching, assessments, and examinations at various levels and study modes (on-campus, online, off-site)
  • Provide support, guidance, and timely feedback to students, act as a personal tutor, and address or refer issues to appropriate parties
  • Contribute to module development, innovative educational approaches, design, review, and quality assurance mechanisms
  • Develop and deliver a planned program of research and innovation in Structural Engineering/Design with national and international impact
  • Grow and maintain a record of high-quality research outputs, including publications and conference presentations
  • Attract research funding individually and collaboratively to underpin your research plan
  • Contribute to research supervision and support of researchers
  • Contribute effectively to administrative processes and committee structures of the School/Faculty
  • (For Grade 8) Contribute to the development and delivery of modules and degree programs, participate in reviews and quality assurance
  • (For Grade 8) Be actively involved in research, innovation, and impact at national and international levels, and contribute to local School/Faculty activities
  • (For Grade 8) Build academic networks to integrate your research area with other interests within and outside the School of Civil Engineering
  • (For Grade 8) Provide research supervision and help attract funded postgraduate research students
  • (For Grade 8) Contribute effectively to administrative processes and committee structures, including taking on leadership roles and managing initiatives
