Job Description Summary
The University of Leeds is seeking an exceptional Professor of Microbiology and Oral Health to join the School of Dentistry. This senior academic role involves leading internationally recognized research, delivering inspirational teaching, and contributing to the strategic academic development and leadership within the School, Faculty, and University.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic academic leadership and direction within the School of Dentistry
- Establish and maintain a high-quality record of research outputs in internationally recognized publications
- Achieve sustained high levels of research funding individually and/or in collaboration with others
- Translate research findings into learning opportunities for students and positive impacts on health improvement
- Deliver research-informed teaching that inspires undergraduate and postgraduate students, with high student satisfaction
- Attract high-quality postgraduate students and support their timely successful completion and employability
- Attract and nurture academic talent, promoting career development for staff
- Promote microbiology and oral health nationally and internationally, winning prestige for the School and University
- Lead or manage major initiatives and multidisciplinary areas of work to improve performance
