Job Description Summary for Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship)

The University of Leeds is seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to join their Language Centre, School of Languages, Cultures and Societies. This full-time, on-site role offers an opportunity to develop and deliver engaging teaching within the university’s large portfolio of academic language, discourse, and literacy programs.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a full teaching load, including research-led teaching on Language Centre provision and other teaching activities as per the university’s workload agreements.
  • Contribute to the design, development, planning, review, and quality assurance of modules and programs within the relevant subject area.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative approaches to learning and teaching, supporting and promoting theoretically informed pedagogical advancements.
  • Contribute to student support, guidance, and assessment of coursework and examinations.
  • Engage in pedagogic research and scholarly activities related to learning and teaching, disseminating findings across the university and externally.
  • Contribute to the administrative processes and committee structures of the centre, school, faculty, or university.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with legislation and undertaking risk assessments.
